OPINION
Must We Always Use Powerpoint for Major Presentations?
Those who use powerpoint or 3D animations in major sales presentations probably aren't aware that they could seriously upgrade their presentation at a single stroke by having the whole show edited down onto video. Think about it. If a presentation is part of a bid for a high stakes major contract, then buyers and specifiers need the best possible presentation you can afford to give them. So what could be better than a professionally made video with a pro script, pro voiceover, pro graphics and pro video library footage? The major misunderstanding seems to be that doing this costs an arm and a leg. Well frankly, it doesn't. And it doesn't take a year and a day to produce either.

What makes video a feasible alternative to powerpoint or 3D animation for VIP presentations is the ability of modern digital video edit suites to very easily incorporate existing user material such as graphics, photos or animation, with existing video library footage, then set it all to a powerful winning script. The result is a Saville Row suit tailored to fit. Presentations look and sound far more impressive, and there are superbly packaged CD copies available for all interested parties afterwards.

Have a look at our website to learn more, or simply call us and ask for an opinion and a quote. You'll be surprised how easy it is and how little it costs to really pump up the volume.

Masterpieces on the Black Country Route
As part of landscaping the new Black Country Route, 18 works of art and sculpture were commissioned by Wolverhampton Metropolitan Borough Council's Technical Services Department. This is an unusual but very welcome approach to landscaping a major relief road, particularly when you consider most busy roads merely have grassy banks with bushes and trees. It has led to Wolverhampton now having a unique selection of outdoor sculptures by the roadside ... maybe masterpieces for the future.

The Council's intention is to produce an interactive CD about the project for showing to Schoolchildren, College Students, and the Public.

Rossiter & Co, working with strategic partner & senior producer Adrian Tayler of Enlightenment Productions, will programme the CD to hold three separate but overlapping sets of information, so that the user can logon directly to the content that is most relevant to them. By doing this, for example, college students won't see the 8 year olds Fun Quiz, but they will see video interviews with the artists by the roadside.

On a broader front, we think interactive training with user selectable interfaces and content is the shape of things to come in instructional design. What say you?
